  • 1 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup beer
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup Koukakis Farm milk
  • Orange zest
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 small cup of cognac
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Walnuts, sugar, cinnamon
  1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
  2. Sift the flour and add the baking powder.
  3. Beat the oil until it lightens in color.
  4. Add the sugar while continuing to beat.
  5. Add the beer, cognac, milk, orange zest, and orange juice and continue beating.
  6. Gradually add the flour and mix.
  7. Shape the melomakarona and bake them for 20-30 minutes.
  8. Meanwhile, bring the water, honey, and sugar to a boil.
  9. Dip the melomakarona little by little in the syrup while they are warm and let them soak for 5 minutes.
  10. Once they are soaked in honey syrup, sprinkle them with a mixture of walnuts and cinnamon sugar.
